Is Nikon about to drop another bomb. Engadgets reporting on rumors for a FULL FRAME mid range DSLR.
Not much more to say. This is totally a huge rumor, so don’t pull the c card just yet. Just feel free to give your thoughts. Would a full frame system on the lower end be great?

If Nikon came out with a FX body in between the D300 and the D3 then who would spend 5 g on the D3?
Sony will have a FF DSLR this September for $2000 - Nikon has to stay competitive! This is good for us
edit edit edit - please proofread your three sentences before posting them: feel free to give you thoughts. ARG! Gavin you kill me with simple mistakes - why?
I have a D3 and it is a great camera, no regrets, It should have paid for itself in about two months.
But in buying the D3 I had one minor but expensive issue. My 12-24mm F/4 DX was a DX lens so on top of buying a $5,000 camera I was forced to buy the 14-24mm f/2.8 for $1,600 so I could get the most out of the FX sensor. The big issue is most of there lower end wide angle zooms are DX, that can be a pain. To answer Firetool, I would. I shoot 1- 3 assignments a day. in any condition, I shoot commercial art, portraits, glamour, news and sports. This camera meets all my needs. nuff said.
well - take a look at canon (even if it hurts). the fullframe 5d and 1ds coexist for a long time and they both have got their users. giving semi-pro’s or advanced amateurs the possibility to get a reasonably priced ff-body is nothing bad.
Barts I do proof read, and I do miss things too. Some days it’s all I can do just to get things posted up in a timely manner. PPS is not a paying job you know
I fixed the typos (thanks for pointing them out) It really easy to miss stuff when proofing.
digitalstat I agree the 5D is a great body. I’m a Canon shooter myself. I’m holding out though because this fall should see a 5D MKII
As for that Sony SLR we’ll have to see what they do. Competition is always good… Gav
